Excellent food and service. Owners stopped by to chat at our table. Pizza is fantastic and meatballs were delicious. Definitely will come again next time we are in Santa Barbara.
A wonderful and delicious new restaurant!
We've been to Mollie's twice now in the last couple weeks. Totally a 5 star experience on all fronts.
Service was excellent, the food was fabulous - fresh pasta bolognese, I loved so much I had it the second visit, too - and the Veal was awesome. A simple Mista salad, split between the two of us, was fresh and delicious.
They were waiting for their liquor license approval, and offered us glasses of wine on the house - much appreciated and also delicious.
Bravo! Mollie's is top of our list for dinner in Santa Barbara.
Just simply great food - 3rd time in a row!
Glad to have them downtown, very attractive space too.
I enjoyed a very nice and relaxing dinner at MOLLIE'S and it was made especially great by the owner checking in and making sure every table was taken care of. I am not a huge fan of Italian food and was hesitant about ordering pasta but I'm very glad that I did. Beyond the amazing food the staff and management pay very close attention to detail and make you feel welcome. Overall it was a great first dinner at MOLLIE'S and I can't wait to go back!
I was relieved to eat great food in a place that didn't ruin the atmosphere with loud music or overcrowding. The food was exceptional, amazing in fact. I am a fairly accomplished cook myself and I found my husband and I looking at one another and asking what magic ingredient made everything taste so wonderful. We are vegetarians and the pasta options were delicious. He had the pasta primavera, and I had the pasta carbonara with Zucchini instead of the more traditional peas, and no ham! Both dishes were individual and very different from one another, but equally great. I was given a glass of a wonderful Pino Grigio (complementary for these first few days until the alcohol license is clear), and I would order it again for sure. When we sat down two lovely and authentic slices of simple pizza arrived, and was followed by bread, with a good quality balsamic and olive oil on the side. We started with a classic Cesar salad, which was good but could have used more anchovies, and when I asked about anchovies a small plate arrived with some lovely white ones. Excellent service. Of course we will eat there again, the tab was very reasonable for quality food and service.
I love mollie and the team here. Soothing ambience & how many places have the owner walking around all tables, connecting with you? She truly wants u to enjoy your experience in her restaurant. What u hear about the turkey meatballs r true. Mouthwatering. Excited to return until all menu items r conquered!
One of the best Italian food I ever had.
The Canneolini was dissolving in my mouth.
Gnocchi was melting in my mouth.
Great atmosphere. Music was pleasant.
Waiters are courteous and taking care of us.
All in all it's a great restaurant.
Looks like they are just getting started. Wishing them all the very best.
How great to have Montecito's internationally acclaimed Italian restaurant on State Street near the Granada Theater! Mollie's offers amazing Italian food prepared by Mollie Ahlstrand who is a chef to the stars! Oprah' favorite meatballs are served here as well as my favorite veal piccata and Margherita pizza! The portions are perfect, not too much and not too little. Their fresh pasta is delicious and they make amazing soups. Of course, no meal at Mollie's is complete without an espresso and their homemade tiramisu!!
This is one of the best Iralian restaurants that I have been to. Their food is great and their service is amazing. We tried their gnocchi and their cannelloni shared, both of which don't have meat. They tasted amazing. They were cooked to perfection.
Absolutely fantastic find for us on our 4-day getaway to Santa Barbara! The food is absolutely amazing - careful attention to both cooking and flavors, my osso buco was perfectly tender, moist, and flavorful - came with perfectly sautéed veggies and a risotto to die for. Prices are very reasonable, and Mollie came by our table to greet and check on us. Unpretentious, honest, and unique - I highly recommend if you want authentic Italian food in a cozy environment with friendly staff.
I have been to Mollie's twice now since it opened in its current location in Santa Barbara. Although the food was good on my first visit, the service was spotty and slow. I visited again on a recent Saturday afternoon, when there were only 4 other people in the restaurant. I asked if the table at the front window was available and was told that it was not "ready". (The table had not been cleared since the last patrons had left.) After being seated I asked for water while I read the menu. Ten minutes passed without the waiter returning. It was then that my lunch partner and I decided to leave and eat elsewhere.
This restaurant is very unique, what I mean by that is that it is very uncommon for the chef and owner to be answering phones cooking and ensuring that her customers are well taken care of as always. The food is amazing and that’s why my wife and I continue to visit her unique authentic Italian restaurant.
